I saw that ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) starandrea had updated her fics, so I ended up meandering to her site and browsing; something that I haven't done in a long time. In that wandering, I found a like to LoA and following the links I ended up at cynthia_harrell's website, reading the entirety of the First Legend of LoA.
Yes, I'm obsessed with myself. *chuckle*
Actually, not so. I haven't read LoA in maybe almost two years. It doesn't exist on the new laptop that I use on a daily basis. It was weird and interesting to be reading that fic. I'm upset that it's been stagnant for two years, but at the same time, I dunno if I have it in me to finish it. My connection to the PR fandom has weakened greatly after living in Japan for this past year; I found other wonderfully pretty fandoms to play in. *points at JE!fandom* :D But there is a little inclination on my part to try to finish it if only because it is unfinished. I don't like to give up and leave things undone, but somehow, in this case, I think I may have to.
I also got around to reading drabbles that I'd done; in particular the ones I did for the Valentine's Day Marathon at PRNS Virtual Season two years ago. I liked those. Tommy/Cassie!fluffiness. :)
I've actually tried to make icons for PR in the past like three months. But everytime I look at the quality of caps, I can't bring myself to make any. I've been spoiled by my other fandoms and their high-quality screencaps and scans among other things. ^_^
This isn't me saying that I'm leaving the fandom, but this is me saying that I'm still lurking around in the dark corners every now and then. Though, I don't always post on this LJ, I'm always logging in about three to four times a week to check my friends' page. :) So, I see you! *smile* |

...Cassie!character! *clap*
So, just got through watching "Broken Spell, Part 1".
Vida is a Cassie!esque character totally. This totally excited me, especially her reaction to her color. :D That, and the hot!factor of Nick is probably what's going to keep me watching. Xander's an idiot for trying to reason with the thingies that look reminiscent to Stingwingers. Chip is totally a Bridge!esque character. I like the reasonable Madison; I really like that the two girls on the team are sisters.
I forgot how much cheese PR has. I almost died watching the first episode. I've been watching Japanese television for awhile, so to make the adjustment to American cheese versus Japanese cheese was difficult sort of. *laughs* Acting is okay as I see it right now. Every actor had their moment where they were weak in the first episode. Speaking of weaknesses, what is up with Xander not masking his New Zealand accent? I'd be interested in an explanation of that.
I guess, I'll gently tread back into PR fandom waters with PRMF. It has yet to completely hook me, but we'll see what happens... |

I went to Laqua - the amusement park to TOkyo Dome - on Sunday.
There was a cosplay convention thing going on called, "Cosplay Festa".
Guess what I saw?
The entire SPD squad, including the swan girl (that was replaced by Kat in the American version), but sans Doggie Kruger. Their costumes were awesome. They totally looked real, dude! ^_-
I totally wanted to take a picture of them, but I was with friends, so I restrained myself. *laughs*

All I can say is that anything is probably better than what I saw. The freaking closing credits are the rangers in civilian form (and in suit) DANCING! *blink* o.O And the civilian uniforms are pretty bad. And of course, let's not forget the capes. *hee* I'll leave it at that, for fear of spoiling anyone. *chuckle*

Thank you. Our friendship is not just online, not just superficial. We get along, we enjoy talking, we appreciate one another. We are loyal to one another. We try to help one another when we are down, support each other when we are up. We are thoughtful of one another and care about what's going on in each other's lives, whether it be jobs, remodeling of houses, or school issues. And you guys are always amused by my inability to censor my rampant cursing when speaking; hearing you guys laugh over a "shit" on my part makes me laugh too. :D

...Nakia Burrise in a Sears commercial with Ty Pennington on Wednesday afternoon while I was watching the block of ABC soaps. (Because really, where do you think I learned how to write drama from? *snicker*) Anyway, she was a frumpy!looking mom!type (I think it was just the clothes on her) because it was a Father's Day sale commercial thing. But seriously. I knew it was her right away. I mean, who could forget her bright, bright smile? :)

On another front, I'm always amused by the reviews I get for Significant Others at fanfiction.net. Half the time, the review is like, "That was a great read. Ashley/T.J. and/or Andros/Cassie and/or Leo/Karone are totally wrong as a pairing and here's my proof as to why, but I still loved the fic." *shakes head* It's always good for a chuckle. :) But in the end, I'm always glad someone's enjoyed the fic and feels the need to correct this messed!up!brain of mine. *wink* |

I've known Shayna for maybe about four or five years in the PR fandom; it's been awhile, so it's hard to remember. :) She's had "Written in the Stars" up for quite some time now, but she's finally moved onto her own domain and has remade the forum to be super!spifficated. :) It's a gorgeous board to talk PR romances as well as anything under the sun. It's a really fresh community - very few members - so please join and come start some fun.
Like I said, it's a REALLY cool forum with lots of gadgets and whistles.

...flipping through channels last night and landed on the WB. I was working on my computer, so I just left it there, even though commercials were running. This commercial for the restaurant chain, Applebee's, comes on. This young woman is talking to this older lady and the voice triggers something in me.
I look at the screen, stare at the girl, and as I watch her work her waitressing job at Applebee's, I freak out. ;)
It's Erin Cahill, and she still looks fabulous. :)

...that Doggie and Kat are headed toward the wedding chapel after "Shadow" part one and two. *snicker*
My current speculation? Kat is Doggie's wife somehow or other in "cat"-form. Dude. It's twenty years from now. Anything's possible! *snicker* Serious though. Did anyone get the "we-really-should-just-get-it-over-go-on-a-date-and-then-make-with-the-crazy-animal-lovin'"!vibe from them or was it just me? ;)
Didn't really care for the two-parter on the whole. I don't care for Doggie. It's hard to have sympathy for a rubber dog. It just is, dude.
On the other hand, I enjoy Kat even though some of her voiceover sounds were weird when she was fighting and being held captive. *blink* But I like how she called Doggie stubborn. She's a passionate cat, that she is. :)
Um, totally did not care for the extended zord fighting and morphed fighting. *yawn*
Did they really expect to eat at Piggy's place and not get fed some gross crap? Seriously.
I kinda wish that the Shadow Ranger had been someone else, but alas... That's the way the cookie crumbles. :)
Maybe I'll come to like Doggie more. *grin* |

...an old 2003 episode of the Japanese variety show, Gakkou e Ikou (essentially Let's Go to School), hosted by the Johnny's group and boy J-pop group, V6.
It was an amazingly funny episode and full of young, pretty, hot, Japanese "pop idols" whom I love - MatsuJun and Takizawa Hideaki in particular.
And then at the end of the episode, for prominently heard background music, here comes "Trouble" by Shampoo.
I was startled for a moment, and then I just started laughing and laughing...

...I feel like I know Jack better than I ever knew Shane in the entirety of PRNS. *chuckle*
But yeah. Really REALLY liked "Stakeout". A bunch. Not as much as "Idol" and "Walls," but pretty damn close. Looks like the writers may be finding their groove finally. :)
madkrazyghetto mentioned in her lovely "recap" of this episode that she now recognizes a bunch of ships with which she is okay. This episode did the same for me. I was pushing for Sky/Z from the first episode, but then got put on the Sky/Syd track. However, from the last three episodes, I've grown back into liking Sky/Z. Also, loving Syd/Jack. They were adorable.
In conjunction with loving Syd/Jack, Jack has FINALLY grown on me. I like him! *yays* He was very sweet in the episode and I really liked Brandon's portrayal of the boy without a birthday. *sniff* ;)
It's official. They are recycling the clothing Kira wore last season and putting it on Z. Or least, some manifestation of Kira's style. At the end at Syd's birthday party, Z had on the grossest outfit EVA. Syd's shirt could've definitely used some work too, but her outfit that she wore when she was on the stakeout was cute. It made me think of sugarsicons. *giggle* While it was cute, it was certainly impractical for a stakeout. *grin* But alas, that's Syd! ;)
Sky was a massive dork at the end. ;) And him and Jack playing the video games at the beginning was so of the dorkness. *giggle*
I really came out with AWESOME screencaps of Syd with this episode. AWESOME. :)
To sum up, good episode with nice Syd and Jack development, both apart and as teammates. ^_- |
